Kenneth Carter, PhD, ABPP


Professional Overview

Dr. Kenneth Carter is the Charles Howard Candler Professor of Psychology. As the Charles Howard Candler Professor of Psychology, he teaches introductory courses in psychology as well as advanced courses in psychopathology and clinical psychopharmacology.

Carter has published extensively in both academic and lay publications, actively engaging in the translation of research in psychology into everyday language. His articles have been published in magazines such as Psychology Today and Women’s Health, and he has appeared on news programs such as NPR’s Short Wave and NBC’s Today Show, and was the host of NBC Sports’ Mind of a Motorhead.

He is the co-author of Learn Psychology (Jones and Bartlett), a textbook now in its second edition.
