Chiropractic Board of United Kingdom
The General Chiropractic Council (GCC) plays a crucial role in overseeing chiropractors in the UK, Isle of Man, and Gibraltar to ensure the safety of patients receiving chiropractic care. Established as an independent statutory body accountable to Parliament, the GCC upholds high standards of practice within the chiropractic profession. This includes verifying the qualifications and fitness to practice of all chiropractors, whether local or international. Additionally, the GCC approves and monitors educational programs offered by chiropractic training providers in the UK. By fostering and promoting these standards in collaboration with registered chiropractors and other stakeholders, the GCC contributes to bolstering public confidence in the chiropractic profession and its position within the broader healthcare system. Among its key responsibilities, the GCC registers chiropractors, publishes a Code outlining the required standards of practice and professional conduct, and sets educational standards for those in chiropractic training. The GCC is headquartered in London, UK.

This association is committed to promoting ethical practices and establishing a modern voice for chiropractic, all while fostering a sense of belonging for its members. The BCA’s leadership in healthcare transformation earned them the honor of being named The Best Professional Body of the Year at the Memcom Excellence Awards in 2022. They are a trusted source for chiropractors, patients, and other stakeholders who value evidence-based and ethical chiropractic care.
United Chiropractic Association
The United Chiropractic Association (UCA), based in Hove, UK, serves as a representation for chiropractors and upholds the fundamental principle of chiropractic: “healthy spine, healthier life.” UCA chiropractors are committed to offering expert drug-free spinal healthcare and lifestyle guidance, contributing to the overall well-being of their patients. As the youngest chiropractic association in the UK, the UCA’s membership has steadily grown since its establishment in 2000. Their mission is to provide chiropractic with a distinct identity, emphasizing its unique contributions to healthcare. They collaborate with other healthcare disciplines to promote patient health and well-being, continuously enhance their proficiency in detecting subluxations, and strive for the highest standards of patient care. The UCA supports research to advance the understanding of chiropractic and its positive effects on patient outcomes while also providing valuable resources to its members and protecting their interests.
