Iowa Chiropractic Continuing Education Requirements

Iowa requires 40 hours of CE every 2 years due June 30 (even years).

Special Requirements: 

  • 36 hours must be taken in courses that directly relate to clinical case management of Chiropractic Patients (20 hours of these clinical case management of Chiropractic Patients must be taken at live, in person events, while 16 of these hours may be taken online).

  • Minimum of 2 hours per biennium in professional boundaries regarding ethical issues related to professional conduct that may include but are not limited to sexual harassment, sensitivity training and ethics.

  • 1 hour in the content of Iowa Administrative Code.

  • Every three years, a class on child abuse and dependent adult abuse.You must receive mandatory reporting training online on the Iowa Department of Human Services website.
