New Zealand Chiropractic Board – Te Poari Kaikorohiti of Aotearoa

The Te Poari Kaikorohiti of Aotearoa, the NZ Chiropractic Board, plays a vital role in safeguarding the public by establishing and upholding standards for chiropractic care. These standards apply to chiropractic education programs, practitioners in the country, and those educated overseas seeking to practice here. To become and remain a chiropractor in New Zealand, individuals must meet these rigorous standards. Governed by the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act, the Board consists of eight members, including six chiropractors and two laypeople, and is supported by a General Manager/Registrar and dedicated staff. In cases where a chiropractor falls short of the required standards, the Board conducts investigations and takes appropriate actions, which may include assisting the chiropractor in meeting the standards or initiating disciplinary procedures. The Board’s headquarters is located in Wellington, NZ.
